Terms and conditions
All quotes are issued in accordance with the following terms and conditions.
Costs/invoicing
Unless specifically flagged as a ballpark figure, all costs provided are project costs. These will only change in the event of the specification being altered, or if additional time is required to adjust designs or copy during development.
Invoices are issued on 30 day payment terms.
For projects comprising five days' work or less, a full invoice will usually be issued once work begins. For larger projects, 40% will be invoiced initially, with the 60% balance on completion.
Invoices can only be issued by email, to someone who is directly responsible for paying invoices.
Once an invoice is issued, we will request confirmation that the invoice will be paid within 30 days.
If payment is likely to be delayed until a subsequent "cheque run" or similar, we will require the date on which payment will be made.
If payment is outstanding on this agreed date, then it may be necessary to suspend all services, including hosting where applicable, until payment is made.
Clients who are consistently unable to pay invoices within agreed timeframes may be asked for payment in full before any future work can be carried out.
Design requirements
If designs are to be supplied by a third party, these should be created in any layered, bitmap format, such as Photoshop or Fireworks. All files should be produced at the exact pixel size required for the final site.
Vector files, such as PDF or Quark documents, can be accepted. However, this will increase the development time required, and therefore the cost of development. Please if designs will be delivered in a vector format.
Regardless of format, each page of the website should be contained within one individual file. Alternatively, one master document can be supplied, with one group of layers per page, if the format supports this.
Where plain text is to be used on a page, web-safe fonts should be used. Ideally, these fonts should not be anti-aliased when displayed within the visual design.
All forms should include guidance on how error messages are to be displayed, and include a "thank you" page/state.
Any "rollover" states, or any other animated elements, should be clearly marked or documented.
All designs supplied should be final. Any changes to the designs supplied, once development has commenced, will be scheduled as a second phase and will incur additional development time.
Copy requirements
All copy should be provided as a separate plain text or Word document.
Copy will be added to the site exactly as provided. Spelling mistakes will be corrected where spotted, but the copy will not be formally proof-read and corrections cannot be guaranteed.
All copy supplied should be final. The quote given includes one round of copy updates, once development is complete. Further updates will incur additional development time.
Server requirements
All quotes, unless specified otherwise, assume the availability of a server that meets the following criteria:
- Apache 2+ on a Linux platform
- PHP 5.3+ with the GD Image Library installed
- MySQL 5+ with a database available (in most cases)
- .htaccess enabled, or root shell access to the server
- Error reporting enabled or available
If you are not sure whether your current or proposed server supports these requirements, please .
Hosting can be provided for all projects; again, please for costs and a sample hosting contract.
